你好 - こんにちは - 안녕하세요. - नमस्ते - ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ

Hello!

I founded Kiwi Kete because I know that "Instagram-Perfect" parenting is a myth.

I’m Jessamy.

Teacher. Mother. Survivor.

On paper, I am a qualified ECE Teacher with a degree in Educational Psychology.

But my real education didn't happen in a lecture hall. It happened in the trenches of real life.

I have parented in every colour of the rainbow. I’ve been a teen mum, a single mum, a step-mum, and a mum of twins. I have raised neurodiverse and gender-diverse children. I have navigated the joy of new life, the heartbreak of loss, and the daily grind of making ends meet when the car is held together by hope and wire. I have cried it out, attachment parented, gentle parented and lost all hope as a parent. I have been where you are, I know how it feels.

You don’t need expensive toys or a perfect playroom to be a good parent. I believe in resilience, connection, and making the most of what you have.

Our intention creates our connection.

Kiwi Kete - the basket of knowledge.

In te reo Māori, the language of the Indigenous people of New Zealand, the word ‘kete’ refers to a basket — a container for what matters. It might carry knowledge, kai, or carefully gathered resources to be shared.

At Kiwi Kete, that idea sits at the heart of everything we do. Each resource wis a modern kind of kete — filled with creativity, connection, and love.

Anyone, anywhere in the world, can share in the joy of learning with their children and prepare them for school in the best way.

Our printables are made for real life in Aotearoa — for whānau who love to learn and play together. However we also offer international versions of each book in digital and printable versions.

Every kete is woven from my background in teaching and parenting, underpinned by my educational psychology degree to create beautiful, effective resources that draw on evidence based practice and the latest research.

Lovingly crafted into a bite-sized, easily digestable guide that deep dives into an important part of Early Childhood Education, making learning at home simple and full of joy.
